How do you choose to be kind? In Room 4, we have
lots of stories that celebrate the times others have been kind to us and wanted
to write about it!
We built these stories over time, first by reading
the book Wonder by R.J. Palacio, (which was absolutely LOVED!), discussing the
themes and characters of the story and what it means to be kind, brainstorming
ideas for our personal stories, writing rough drafts, revising and editing
multiple times and finally publishing our stories in this book!
A very special thanks goes to Nancy McLean who
wrote us thoughtful letters, visited our classroom community, helped us develop
our stories of kindness and encouraged us to continue writing during our week long Writing Residency.
We hope after reading these stories, you too will #choosekind.
Hello Students of Room 4 of Radisson School,
ReplyDeleteThank you for allowing me and the many other guests to be a part of your class for a whole week while you read, talked, and wrote about kindness. I learned from you, from Mrs. Steinhoff, and from Ms. Nancy McLean, many things which I will use in the school in which I work, Robert Andrews School. You are all wonderful writers, doing many things that good writers do, and I have enjoyed reading your stories which Mrs. Steinhoff has posted on your blog. Thanks again!
